Hi, I'm Tanya!
I'm the owner of Special Treats by Tanya. I’m a self-taught baker who loves to create all things using sugar as my medium. I am of Hispanic descent born in Massachusetts but relocated to Florida in 2005 (technically I’m now a Floridian). I’ve been married for 18 years to my husband Alex, with whom I share two beautiful children with Hayden and London.
The Secret Ingredient In Baking Is Always Love
My passion for baking started as a young child when I used to bake pies and cakes with my mother. My mother instilled a strong work ethic within me and taught me to take care of myself no matter where life took me. This work ethic helped to cultivate my desire to become a nurse.

Over the last 20 years, I have enjoyed being a nurse specializing in pediatrics. Throughout my nursing career, I would look for ways to have a creative outlet and cake won every time. I would make cakes and treats to bring to my co-workers and they loved them.

From this humble start, I dreamed of having my own business but the thought of it frightened me. In 2015, with the support of my husband, I decided to take a leap of faith, and Special Treats by Tanya was born.
